I have same problem. In 9.2 RC1 it worked fine. Then in Cooker sometime after,
the settings for the WIRELESS_ESSID were not being retained. It looks like
settings get over written when changing netprofiles or pressing Apply and OK. 

The wireless NIC comes up fine if I have no params. But I have settings on my
home wireless and can not connect since the config keeps being overwriten.

I have a Melco wireless card using the orinoco driver. It worked fine in Mdk9.1

In 9.2RC2 it does not start on boot, or with a 'service network restart', but 
does come up with 'ifup eth0'

The ifcfg-eth0 is configured for start on boot and dhcp.
