ok, so the problem really is that some kernel drivers do not yet
support mii(though jeff garzik just make a lot of network drivers
supporting it in 2.6.0-test5 and 2.4.22-pre3).
for now, you've to check out the "hotplug" option in drakconnect.
the proper fix will to fix the kernel, that is using new versions
(sadly, this is too late for mdk9.2)
please, kernel team, close this bug once cooker kernel get updated
once mdk9.2 is released or once an update kernel get support for net
link detection in more network drivers.
this is not really a bug but a feature lack in some network drivers.

I have a Melco wireless card using the orinoco driver. It worked fine in Mdk9.1
In 9.2RC2 it does not start on boot, or with a 'service network restart', but
does come up with 'ifup eth0'
The ifcfg-eth0 is configured for start on boot and dhcp.
