------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-13-09 05:04 -------
I got things to work again by comparing the rc.5 directories and removing a lot
of services. Then it worked. After adding services I found out that having any
of these services activated at boot disabled suspend with the
"unregister_netdevice " message.

        tmds
        ntpd
        slpd

Stopping these services before suspend does not seem to cure the problem, they
must not be started at all.

I have more services that may cause the same problem inactive, but these are
multicast service, right?

Suspend to disk does not work after clicking the entry in the KDE start menu. My
computer got 521 MB RAM and my swap partition is 800MB big.

I'm getting the following message in /var/log/messages over and over again:

Sep 12 10:43:59 bluehurricane kernel: unregister_netdevice: waiting for eth0 to
become free. Usage count = 2

My ethernet card is a SIS 900based PCI fast ethernet card which is working great
with mandrake so far.
