I installed the ati.2 package just fine, but when I try to install the avview 
package, it gives me an error.  It says it can't install it because of 
something wrong with the ffmpeg.  Is there something else I can install to 
substitute for this package, or any way to force it to install?

 

If you are not planning to do any capturing, you can safely do a *urpmi 
--allow-nodeps*. If you plan on capturing, there is alternate ffmpeg and 
avview rpms on the gatos.sourceforge.net download page.
