when the network is down, I can not reproduce:

e.g. it prints a shitload of messages but doesn't hang. anything special you
did? what's the status now?

it does!
at boot, when it says Starting postfix, it wont come back from this state,
probably because there is no configuration setup neither an Internet connection.
Also, I don't know where to report this matter, but I cant seem to configure
internet connection if i failed to do it after the post configuration while
installing mandrake.
drakconf > internet and network configuration > cable connection > and then ???
no settings required? it just says ... your settings were updated succesfully :(
i don't get to enter IP, Gateway and DNS
