the "switch back to the package group screen" has been fixed 4 days ago (after
RC2), e.g. current cooker contains the fix. about the freeze, I don't know. can
you still reproduce now?

When selecting an individual package, the installer will often switch back to
the Package Group screen. On two occasions, it froze up. For one session, it
took me over ten times to select all of the packages I wanted installed.
Here is what I did for one session. Select:
Office Workstation
Internet station
Web/FTP
Database
Check Individual package selection. From the package tree:
Expand the Server branch
Expand the MySQL branch
Check the MySQL branch check mark
Select the MySQL package
