Appearantly this is a bug of the kernel and not of scannerdrake or SANE, as the
scanner is not seen by the kernel (neither in /proc/bus/usb/devices nor in
/proc/scsi/scsi). So SANE has no chance to detect your scanner.
Is the scanner USB or SCSI?
I am passing this bug over to the kernel guys ...
