I have a Dell C640 laptop which I have been running MDK 9.1 since it was
released with no problems. I did an RC2 upgrade install on this, and during
package installation while on CD1 the installer abruptly bounced out back to the
language selection point of the install. When I forwarded to the disk
partitioning screen, all of the existing partitions were prepended with /mnt,
and the root partition was gone. I had no choice but to start all over again
with a fresh install of 9.2. This was a stock MDK 9.1 installation, with the
only additional separately installed applications being: Mozilla 1.5b,
OpenOffice 1.1b, and the latest version of the Novel client. The first two were
installed from binaries, the third was a contributed MDK RPM from MandrakeClub.
