Well, simply put, if the day comes that I can't go to a vendor's website,
download their RPM for RedHat, and have it work flawlessly under Mandrake,
that will be the day I stop using Mandrake.

Other than that, you've presented a number of arguments I can't argue with.
I used to use Debian and I agree they have a far superior package system.
But it just doesn't have the support.  I'd rather see RPM improved or some
frontend written to support all the features of Debian's package system.
THAT would be cool...
