sure, but testing is easier with a good iso form me and for newbies that test the distro on many hardware. There's really a problem. Having fixed date is bad or else they should add 1 or 2 weeks more just in case. For example instead of saying 22/09, they could say 06/10. They could have time to release an RC3 and may have finish everything the 24 and will have one week cool for packaging, etc ...
