Yes drakfirsttime will start the default wm and discard the dm choice.
Go to step 2 choose your WM, next + skip wizard does the trick.

Have a new user.
In MDKKDM choose your new user and select "Gnome" for desktop manager.
Login in !
When the first time wizard start click on "Skip wizard" and now KDE start !!!!
