The prosper.cls contains a bug that prevents using the color
package with it. The CVS version of prosper
(http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/prosper/prosper/) is
*not* correct at the present time.
Debian has open this bug under #160523 (see
http://bugs.debian.org/160523) and is now closed. The accepted patch is simply
to move a line.
I have tested it successfully with tetex-latex-2.0.2-10mdk.
