I agree, karamba/superkaramba should allow th use of negative values to 
mean from the opposite edge. I was more worried about the themes in the 
default theme not appearing on 800x600. BTW, I use 1024x768 on most 
machines, it looks quite good there, and the user can move them  easily 
anyway.

Hmm, I don't know an easy solution here. IMHO, tmon should be improved 
with python, to determine the partitions to monitor at run time. Maybe for 
now, I will just do /, /home, and /mnt/windows ?

No, it's the themes that don't take advantage of the new superkaramba 
features. Take a look at liquid_weather_plus, it has a configuration menu. 
tmon needs something like this.

Anyway, a user can copy the theme to somewhere they have write access, 
close the default tmon theme, and open their own one. If they have 
session-saving enabled, next login superkaramba will start up as it was 
when they logged out.
