harddrake lockup on a mdk9.2 ???? not a mdk9.1 ? what reports "rpm -qa drakxtools\* harddrake\*" ? > P.S. What is noapic anyways? the noapic option prevent the kernel from using the IO-APIC of the motherboard. IO-APIC (I/O Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller) is an SMP-capable replacement for older PC-style irq controllers. it is often found on smp capable motherboard and is rarely found on uniprocessor motherboard. some motherboard/bios couples are buggy and this option make them working with the linux kernel
