------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-22-09 18:48 ------- Kernel mention was entirely for the purpose of landmarking the install on which comment 21 was based. I have no use for a mouse on tty[1-6]. Why should mc depend on gpm? rhl9.0host# rpm -qa | grep mc-4 mc-4.6.0-4 rhl9.0host# rpm -qa | grep gpm-1 gpm-1.19.3-27 rhl9.0host# ps -A | grep gpm 1611 ? 00:00:00 gpm rhl9.0host# suse8.1host# rpm -qa | grep mc-4 mc-4.5.55-416 suse8.1host# rpm -qa | grep gpm gpm-1.20.1-46 suse8.1host# ps -A | grep gpm suse8.1host# mdk9.1host# rpm -qa | grep mc-4 mc-4.6.0-1mdk mdk9.1host# rpm -qa | grep gpm libgpm1-1.20.1-2mdk mdk9.1host# ps -A | grep gpm mdk9.1host# mdk9.2host# rpm -qa | grep mc-4 mc-4.6.0-4mdk mdk9.2host# rpm -qa | grep gpm libgpm1-1.20.1-9mdk libgpm1-devel-1.20.1-9mdk mdk9.2host# ps -A | grep gpm mdk9.2host# Next: trying the packages in comment 23 -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: mc startup has actually been fubar since at least 9.0, possibly before that, but I can't remember. I haven't stopwatched it, but if started immediately upon 1st login after boot, it must be taking at least one minute, a seeming eternity, both in 9.1 and 9.2rc1. Upon entering mc at shell prompt, the screen is blanked, cursor goes to bottom left, and nothing happens for a while. Eventually, some liblow error messages quickly scroll up the screen too fast to read, and mc becomes ready to use. Hardware is rather old, P200 for rc1, with 128 MB RAM & PCI graphics card, but immaterially better on K6/2-500 with 256 MB RAM and same graphics adapter for 9.1, and on a P3-450 with 768 MB RAM and G450 graphics adapter..
