------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-22-09 21:39 ------- FYI, an easy way to get the Windows bootloader back is to boot off the Installation CD of Mandrake, type 'rescue', and then choose the option to restore the Windows bootloader. At least it was there in 9.1 (haven't looked in the 9.2's). -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: ASSIGNED creation_date: description: I installed Linux Mandrake 9.2 rc2. I partitionned my harddisk during the installation process. After I fully installed the distro and that I used it one time, I wanted to install a Microsoft Windows OS again. I first booted on a Microsoft boot floppy disk. I ran fdisk. When I wanted to see the partition table (choice 4), then fdisk program frozed always. I tried to boot on a CD but Microsoft Windows NT told me I had a disk error. I decided to install Linux Mandrake 9.1 final (minimal install). I used it one time. I then booted on a floppy and I could use fdisk ! I suppressed non dos partitions (previous Linux install) and created 1 primary dos partition and one extended dos partition. On the extended dos partition, I created a logical reader. I could then saw C: and D: readers. I rebooted and formated the 2 partitions with the windows file system.
