some months ago, kernel hang bugs were reported on Athlon 1700+ (can't
remember what exactly but google should tell you more) : do you have one

The only way to launch the installation on my NEC Powermate, with AMD Athlon,
128Mo, is to use alt1 (kernel 2.2.X ).
But the installer doesn't install a kernel 2.2 but only a 2.4.x kernel, so i
can't boot on it !
I don't understand why it doesn't work with kernel 2.4, it crash on the word
"booting on kernel..."
I've tried somethin like linux mem=112M, but it doesn't work anymore...
I've Mandrake 9.1 RC2
