hi,
on my xp2400+ with samsung cd/rw 40/12/40 it takes nearly 1 minute for k3b to start.
then sometimes the maximum writespeed is only 12 even with normal blank cd' s
(he takes the max from rw cds not the 40 for normal cds) and im not able to
correct it manualy.

one thing im wondering about is, why in mandrake not ALL cd drives are emulated
as scsi ?? i think all people with a cd drive and a burner must change it
manually or NONE burner software is able to copy from cd drive to burner on the
fly or am i wrong ?? why its not standard can someone explain that for me ?
because changing it manually with the kernel parameter is out of range of many
linux newcomer and if the fstab is not changed correct there are problems with
the mandrake control center too.
setting all drives to scsi (with the emulation parameter for the kernel) will
hurt no one but makes many things easyer but thats my opinion.

ps: sorry for my english but im german

sincerely
MCK

I'm using 9.2RC2 and have a Samsung SC-148C cdrom and TDK CDRW4800B burner. This
new version takes almost a minute to scan for SCSI drives before it opens to the
main screen. After that the program works fine with no problems. The previous
version of K3B 0.8 opened up much faster.
