/etc/dynamic/scripts/part.script
is the script who IMHO is responsible to update fstab.
I had a look inside, and drakupdate was causing me some trouble.
Some doc are missing with drakupdate_fstab to understand what it does, and 
what has to be done in the part.script exactly.

Having a usb-storage plugged during boot cause another problem, but this is 
not the main concern here.
