------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED]  2003-20-10 12:22 -------
The problem is that file (~/.qt/qtrc) is only created when localedrake is
launched; if the system default is chinese and a user is added and localedrake
is not launched, then that file is not created, and the default of Qt is not
good for  minichinput...

Now, the safe value can be put in /etc/qtrc file, and then if will be the
default for all users without a specific ~/.qt/qtrc

It was however too late for the standard 9.2 version; but an update of qt3 will
solve it; in the meantime, you can write the following in /etc/qtrc:

[General]
XIMInputStyle=Over The Spot

This bug exists in Mandrake Linux 9.2 download edition.

Chinese input bugs. Some Chinese users find that they cannot use miniChinput
which is in the 9.2 CDs to input Chinese. And an easy way to solve this bug is
find: modify "~/.qt/qtrc", under the "[general]", you'll find "XIMInputStyle=On
The Spot", change it to "XIMInputStyle=Over The Spot", and it will be all right.
I don't know why MandrakeSoft's developer choose "XIMInputStyle=On The Spot" as
default. It is easy to fix the bug, but will stop many newbie to use Mandrake.

I hope you will fix the bug soon.
