You, my fine feathered friend, are full of foo. 7.2 and 8.2 were decent, but not perfect. 9.2 even needing the updates is a heck of a lot better than either 7.2 or 8.2. I know - I've used every Mandrake since 5/6 and run cooker since 7.1. They could always be like SuSE or RedHat and consider non-security bugfixes and updates to be next point release. Mandrake is bending over backwards. Schedules have to be kept, but they didn't quit working when it was cut - they kept at it to make a good product even better.
