Because it's cheaper, more flexible, and more supportable. Sorry, I abandoned the political aspect of selling Linux when I realized the above three arguments were a lot more compelling. I don't want to flip off the man, I want to sell him on Linux. ;) "Pimp-ass newsreader" is no big deal because (a) none of my clients need to be reading news more than Google Groups will suffice for; (b) there are no pimps per se around my client sites to get offended, whereas there are handicapped people and handicapped people have successfully sued employers over less; and (c) to know that Pan originally stood for "Pimp-Ass Newsreader" you'd have to google a little bit (they even let "superpimp.com" lapse), whereas "gimp" is the name of the executable. I suppose you wouldn't worry about legal liability for programs called "New Instant GNOME Graphic Enhancer/Repository" or "KDE Interactive Kernel Extender" either? Rob
