Yes, I suddenly thought that as well ! However, the problem comes when you move
on to a new kernel. I assume that now you must do rpm -Uvh --force alsa......
everytime you move a kernel version !

Hmmmm, not sure if that's the right way to go. Since when has the kernel been
dependant on anything ?
