That would probably help :)

But here's the output when I do that:

[fran@flp fran]$ su Password: [root@flp fran]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/mysql start
[root@flp fran]# Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql
mysqld daemon ended  
              

(and it hangs and doesn't give back the cursor ... had to control-c to get it
back.)
