You should also be watching the Video4Linux mailing list

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

The author of the bttv driver and of xawtv (Gerd Knorr) is active on
this list.

Show them your configuration (kernel, i2c, etc) and the contents of
your /etc/conf.modules, what happens when you do a xawtv or kwintv,
and ask for help.

The situation appears to me quite confused at the moment, awaiting
v4l2 in kernel 2.4, a new i2c (from lmsensors), bttv, etc. Proper
sensing of the video frame buffer address is cccurring and all must
be compatible for anything to work. We also await a new kwintv for
KDE2.

Mandrakesoft does indeed seem to lack expertise in this area, which
is a great pity, since it should all work 'out of the box', but most
certainly does not! It pretty much did in 7.0, but not in 7.1
