[Cooker] Ds -1L Audio Controller

I can't seem to get Cooker/L-M 7.1 and this
"on the board" audio chip to work together!?
Yamaha TMF-740C(DS -1L AudioController)
It is recognized by 'detect'

I had heard from failrly reliable sources that 
it should be working with the newer Mandrakes?
