Some more data points on this family of issues: Fails with both hd.img and network.img (ftp install - couldn't get nfs install to work at all but maybe I am doing something wrong...) HOWEVER, on another computer, using the same network.img and the same ftp site (internal machine) it works (but this computer only has room for a 47% install). So it may not be a bad hdlist or a bad mirror grab. Either there is something strange about my setup that the mandrake installer doesn't like, or doing a 100% install triggers it but a 47% doesn't.
