>From what I understand, "kaffe" (as oposed to "Kaffe")
is a shell script that takes care (among other things0
of that; but it does not work even if I set the
variable myself. The problem is that it is not finding
the basic java classes; I think that in kaffe these
are replaced with their own version, so unless I have
the jdk intalled (I don't) then I shouldn't have the
jdk's class libraries anywhere on my system (I don't)
right? All I have are the kaffe's jar files in
/usr/share.
