I can confirm this strangeness.
My deduction is that it MAY (or may not) be due to some interaction
problem with that server and rsync. Check your rsync terminal output
for:
receiving file list ... opendir(cooker/tutorial): Permission denied
opendir(7.2beta/i586/tutorial): Permission denied
done
IO error encountered - skipping file deletion
With local file deletion skipped we certainly can expect problems for
people using Troels Liebe Bentsen's ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) pre-rsync local
file renaming perl script (like me). Assuming that the IO error
refers to the permission denied situations, I have so far found no
way of getting rid of this anomoly (tried various --excludes).
I can't get Netscape into sunet.uio.no or my local mirror
mirror.aarnet.edu.au to actually check the tutorial file permissions
- both are overloaded and have been rejecting more ftp logins for
some time. rsync logins work, though.
