I just remembered to update the HD settings with hdparm and for some reason
their just not working like they used to. I used to get ~20MB/sec with
the -c 1 -d 1 options, but now with 7.2 beta im only getting no more than 6
MB/sec.
also the -k 1 -K 1 options dont work
Im assuming its 'cause that /etc/rc.d / init layout has changed (im also
assuming that it that the locations have changed too)
PS
maybe someone could explain to me why even though LM is for pentium+
processor systems why the options eg for the HD dont reflect the same
maybe for LM8 8-) there will be an extra post install app that goes through
the hardware looking for and applying optimisations ( and making them stick
after reboot)
