WRONG!
Some Asus Boards are even today shipped with DMA/33 AFAIK (P5A, P3B). At
least I bought my P5A Version at the end of 1998 and it had DMA/33 at that
time. And I the tested computer had a P3B with UDMA/33 as well (which was
a brand new model). My new DFI board has DMA/66 though I could not get it
to run up to now (did not try the tips frim oreilly hp, might be a kernel
problem too or bios). I don't know if the speed goes to UDMA/33 in this
case automatically. With my UDMA/66 harddisk, I get UDMA/33 only if I
explicitely tell it (-X34), -d1 alone gives me hard disk failures.
Anyone knows a source for updates of the Unified IDE Patch for the latest
2.2.18pre-Patches ? It breaks since pre-patch4 or 5 AFAIR.
