OK. I stand corrected. The version I'm using here is now working. I have
attached it (named isomake.sh).

I have now split the last genhdlist_cz2 invocation and this seems to work
as it should be. I saw that Warly did the same.
The fact that the cdrom.img is not found is that you copied the contents of
the images directory instead of moving the complete images directory out of
the mandrake tree. I got bitten by this too.

See the attached script for these changes. This is still based on the
previous version of the script. I will take a look at your latest version
for the modifications you have made.
