Ok, I already found a download source for CVS:
http://gimp-plug-ins.sourceforge.net.
So I'm on my way to create this plugin (I fear it requires
to have to sources, so it might be difficult to really move
it to contrib).

Also want to mention: Debian does include the package as well,
but also the outdated version (which works well with gimp-1.0).
I don't know if they patched it for gimp-1.1.24 (woody).
