0600. Then thinking how hard could it be, attempted to do a hd.img install.
Created the boot disk - no problem. Let it boot graphical and got:
Couldn't open RGB_DB 'usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb'
error opening security policy file /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver/SecurityPolicy
Fatal Server error:
couldn't open default font 'fixed'
X connection to :0.0 broken (explict kill or server shutdown)

install exited abnormally
etc, etc
So I did a text install and it bombed just after formatting hda1 saying no
hdlist1.cz found.
I don't have that file and it is not on any of the ftp's I checked.
If I did something wrong please show me where I strayed from the straight and
narrow.
Also when installing beta3 from cd (graphical) I was allowed to mount my hdc1
to a point of my choicing but in RC1 text I was not (tried both recommended
and custom installs).
Finally just installed beta3 and used MandrakeUpdate to upgrade to RC1.
