Hi all!
Well, I've finally downloaded, burned and installed the 2 rc1-ISOs and I
found a great improvement since beta-3. First of all, it's now possible to
build a RAID system during installation process. I may say the whole
installation process is perfect, except for the fact that it hangs up if I
have the printer turned on while it makes raid, don't ask me why!!!
Curiously, my modem seemed to be NOT working, but it happened for the
mysteriuos that the serial where it is attached (that was ttyS0 till beta-3)
now it's called ttyS1... I've linked modem to ttyS1 and it's fine, but why
did the number change???
Once I finished the installation, I turned on the system to configure by hand
many things I like. I found some strange behaviour:

(1) It takes A NIGHT (I mean exactly 8 hours!!!) to build the raid-1 device
for my /home (7.5 GB), while with 7.1 it takes no more than 2 hours. Anyway
once it's finished, it works fine...

(2) Linuxconf crashes puntually as I try (in "X" graphic mode) to set up the
network... I think it's horrible because EVERYONE uses netconf to change
network parameters. Anyway I used "init 3" and then linuxconf worked fine!

(3) The usual KvIRC... still missing the files in /usr/share/kvirc/* that the
old packages (for example kvirc-2.0.0-1mdk.i586.rpm) installed. So I had to:
        rpm -e kvirc
        rpm -Uvh kvirc-2.0.0-1mdk.i586.rpm
        cp -fav /usr/share/kvric /root
        rpm -e kvirc
        rpm -Uvh kvirc-2.0.0-1.99-3mdk.i586.rpm
        cp -fav /root/kvirc/ /usr/share/
and it all works perfectly. So I hope to see these, files in the
kvirc-2.0.0-4mdk for the finale relese! ;P

(4) It's not hard to see "KDE control center" to crash while saving
settings... But I guess it's a problem for KDE-team more than for
Mandrake-team!

(5) A stupid and purely extetic question: why don't you change than horrible
"?" icons that appears in many menu's voices, as for "English Howto"??!!??

....

Globally I think 7.2-RC it's almost perfect, if you can fix those bugs,
expecially the linuxconf apps!

Well, it's all at the moment guys! I'm going to use the system from now till
night, so wait for other mail from me hehehe! =;-)

        Claudio
