Thanks Ray,
After I tried that, I still did not have any sound events in KDE , even
though sndconfig set it up without a problem. I logged into GNOME and I had
sound events. Went back into KDE no sound, however, when using cdplayer,
there was sound 8-). I did not try using cd player before. It looks like
KDE has a problem with sound and sound events (Based on other psotings)
BTW, I still get the resource busy under harddrake. Maybe the next version
of KDE will have a fix for this
