The drivers for the Geforce2 GTS only work with X4.0.1
What you need to do to install a Geforce2 GTS is
1. Download X4.0.1 and The Nivida Drivers form xfree86.org and
nivida.com
2. Install X, then use xf86config to configure the XF86Config File.
When asked if you want to see the driver database press y then
311, this will select a nvidia drive (It won't do anything but it will
make it easier to edit the file later).
3. Compile the Nivida kernel and GLX drivers. They will install them
selves.
4. edit the XF86Config file , mcedit /etc/X11/XF86Config, F7 search
for glx and remove the # sign. Then search for nv and change it to
nivida then F2 & F10, you will be returned to the command line,
type kdm (or what ever you login manger is) and every thing
should start. You can delete the files you install X with and the
Nivida files.
Hope this helps
