I get exactly the same happening on a modem link with timeout. One
alternative (only possible if you have plenty of disk space to spare) is
to use rsync to grab the 7.2 tree (rather than the iso), then build the
ISOs yourself.
For downloading ISO images via modem, the best tool that I know of is
wget with the --continue option. It takes about 2.5 days, but once it's
started it will run without further attention.
