I have a Lexmark 7000 and while the reverse engineered
driver works ok, but I have always had to install the filter
myself. At least as of 7.0, the filter was not included and
the CUPS website doesn't list the 7000 as supported.

BTW: FEATURE REQUEST: Grab the Lexmark-7000-linux
printfilter and include it in the base distro!

I mean, the Z-11 and two other Lexmarks I owned printed
like

You're right. My printer, at least, is also a P.O.S.
Unfortunately, it's my P.O.S, so I have to work with it.
