followed Chris Molnar's instructions, worked except kdevelop complained that
it needed libg++.so.2.7.2.
also the desktop icons that invoke the file-directory utility don't work,
although corresponding ones on the taskbar do.  However kpackage works.

This was not a cooker installation -- I installed the glibc-2.2 files on top
of a Mandrake 7.2 installation using the --force --nodeps method
(compat-glibc, glibc-2.2, ldconfig, the two ldetects, the two locales and
sash)
