I had the same problems. The rpm2header problem for me was due to the 
fact that I was running rpm-3.05 and not 4.0. I changed the rpmtools.pm 
file in cooker/misc/ to point to /usr/bin/rpm2header and it works fine now.

Commenting out the ipchains line in portsentry.conf (ipchains doesn't 
work with the new kernel) fixed the portsentry problem for me (Although 
now I have no way to drop a route, until I figure out how iptables 
works). I think in previous versions of portsentry the line was 
commented out by default, and now for some reason it is not. It would be 
nice to have portsentry incorporate a dropped route via iptables.
