a) ReiserFS is a good journaling FS, specially for a home box or SOHO
server, but when it comes to (big) database serving, XFS has the track record
of being *It*.
b) XFS has the mental marketshare among the journaling FSs...pretty
damn important to convince some buzzword-addicted PHBs.
c) XFS is the oldest journaling FS there is....nothing has proved its
worth better than it has (it's unproven in linux, yes...but the design behind
it has been proven for ages). The actual code may be immature in linux, but it
will mature much faster than ReiserFS did (at least it should).
d) Choice :)
