I just upgraded to libqt2-2.3.0-1mdk and it looks great. There is however
a problem that has to be resolved:
When KDE starts up with the new QT installed, all fonts (including fixed width)
are set to bitstream charter. This happens both for the general KDE fonts and for the
Konqueror browser.
KDE Applications that are supposed to only use fixed width applications, like
konsole, can only be configured to use 'fixed', but still continue to use
'bitstream charter'. This messes up the display enormously, you can find a
screenshot at http://users.evitech.fi/~arndb/snapshot1.png .
The whole problem seems to be that with the new libqt2, KDE is using /only/
the Type-1 fonts from /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1, namely
Bitstream Charter, Courier, Courier 10 Pitch, Cursor, LuciduxMono, LuciduxSans,
LuciduxSerif and Utopia!
