Still no success with the card.

on mdk 7.2 for the install was okay with 0x140,9,7,1

tried this with beta 2 and it hangs.

looking at the console I can see that isapnp has found ava-1505a

I did an install without specifing a SCSI interface and checked the
isapnp settings in /proc and found the card was at irq 10.
Now I did the another install attemp without changing anything irq it
fails. Looking at the console it says that the irq might be wrong.

So back to trying the settings I used before ... 0x140,9,7,1

still hangs but the console says

aha1520x0 trying software int ... ok
scsi0 adaptec 152x scsi driver: $revision: 2.4$

it sits here for a while and then prints

aha152x0 timer expired and then prints a dump

I don't know if this is related but I also have a matshita cd-rw (ide)
and in the boot log I see
scsi subystem driver revision:1.00
kmod:failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k scsi_hostadapter, errno=2

in case it matters /etc/modules.conf has an entry for alias
scsi_hostadapter ide-scsi.

after the boot lsmod tells me that
ide-scsi, sd_mod, and scsi_mod among others are loaded.
