Hi all,

This may have been brought up before, but I haven't seen it looking thru
the archives. If I've missed it, please forgive me...:)

Bugzilla problem 2532, relating to rpmdrake...the person who submitted
the bug submitted it under Mandrake 8.0b1, but I believe it should be
listed under 8.0b2, since I've come across the same bug in b2.

When installing updated packages using rpmdrake, installation will fail
after the packages are downloaded. This appears to be occurring because
of urpmi's dependency checks - when urpmi comes across a package that is
needed by another package, it will normally prompt the user, asking if
they wish to force installation. Within rpmdrake, this is not
happening, therefore the installation is failing.

I believe there WAS an update for rpmdrake post-installation of beta
2...but since I didn't have any packages to install after that, I
haven't been able to test if the problem still exists. If it is still
there, I would really like to see it fixed before Mandrake 8.0
releases...this bug is pretty serious if you want to keep your system
up-to-date. You can't update your kernel source and header trees if you
can't tell urpmi to force the installation!

Thanks,
Jeff Butts
