Same problem here.
My guess is that something changed with libXft between XFree86-4.0.3-3mdk
and XFree86-4.0.3-4mdk. There was however nothing in the rpm changelog
supporting this. After I disabled antialiasing by editing
~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals, it worked fine, but of course without AA
fonts.
Running something like 'QT_XFT=true konsole' still crashes. More specific,
any QT application (I tried some helloworld) seems to segfault during
"RepadBitmap()" in libfreetype.so.6.
