Ok...I decided to give 2.4.3-10mdk a try, and it was working sorta
well...untill I did an apt-get dist-upgrade...got a bunch of db3 errors and now
it seems like my rpm database is corrupted to no end :(

[root@ayesha /root]# rpm -qa | grep kernel
kernel-2.4.2-25mdk
kernel-2.4.2-18mdk
kernel-2.4.2-16mdk
kernel-headers-2.4.3-10mdk
kernel-2.4.3-8mdk
kernel-source-2.4.3-10mdk
memory alloc (4229956376 bytes) returned NULL.

No matter what I try, whenever I try to do something that implies going
through the whole rpm database, like apt-get update or rpm -qa or rpm
--rebuilddb I get that memory alloc error and that's it...--rebuilddb doesn't
fix it :(

Anybody got a clue about how to fix this that doesn't imply
reinstallation? If I have to reinstall, I may as well wait for mdk8 final is
released...it's a pain to install beta1 and upgrade to the latest over ISDN or
dld new ISOs just to dld em again in a week or two or however till final
release
