Download the avi-asf player. There are Mandrake RPMs created at this ftp site:
ftp://durruti.univ-reunion.fr/pub/linux/distributions/plf/RPMS
You need avifile and libavifile.0
and you need to get the win32 dlls and put them in /usr/local/lib/win32 . Try 
http://divx.euro.ru for these.
