What is wrong with you guys? The packages installed are badly seleted.
Okay, I was tring to figure out why my freshly installed 8.0 dosn't have
flash player! I got flash plugin for NS from flash.com.. then installed
it, still no flash in konqueror. Then I rememberd the kdebase-nsplugin rpm
.. I checked adn its not installed!! Then I got a reference from cooker
that Mandrake's flash is in netscape-plugins RPM.. thank you i said.. and
installed it.
Great! so now I have flash.. but how much I had to struggle just to get
flash working???
I had selected "internet station", "multimedia station" and all those
things.. then why arnt't these packages installed??? How do you expect a
newbie to figure out what to install to get flash working!! In 7.2 I
remember flash was working out of the box. LM8.0 has screwed everything
in the package selection.. Another eg. is no "telnet" even though I had
selected everything from the package selection group.. this is downright
ridiculous.
Mandrake is taking a really good distro in 7.2 and making it worse by not
including things that users really want. Please provide a 8.01 with the
countless bugs fixed.
