[Cooker] mutt gotten bunged between 1.3.18i-3mdk and 1.3.15i-3mdk

Mutt seems to have gotten bunged up in the last one or two updates.  I
have 1.3.15i-3mdk on an 8.0 system here that works just fine with my
IMAP server, however my Cooker system is not so successful.

The problem seems to be that 1.3.15i-3mdk understands the server's
"capabilities" and knows to use CRAM-MD5 authentication, however
1.3.18i-3mdk insists on using plain-text.  Both using the same IMAP
server and are given the same "capabilites banner"!

Ideas?
